How to choose a church singer for your wedding

CHOOSING A CHURCH SINGER FOR YOUR WEDDING CEREMONy

Music is an integral part of a wedding ceremony. The right church musician will uplift the ceremony, provide a stunning backdrop to the big day, and will be able to adapt seamlessly to any changes. They will be responsible for setting the tone for your big day! Considering this, choosing the right musician for your ceremony is crucial. Check out my top tips below for choosing a church singer for your wedding ceremony.

1. Choose a singer who you enjoy listening to. Music is such a personal aspect of a wedding, and choosing someone whose sound you love will make the day more special for you. Don’t feel pressured into choosing someone who was recommended, or choosing a friend or family member as a favour. If you choose the singer who stands out to you the most, it will help to make the day more special for you.

2. Choose a singer who is experienced with liturgical music. For anyone getting married in the Catholic a church, this step is so, so important. If the music chosen doesn’t fit with the liturgy, and hasn’t been approved by the priest, you could be told on the day that your song choice are unsuitable, and not be allowed to play them.

3.Choose a singer you trust- and then trust them! It can be so hard letting go of control, but if you trust your singer with the music for your big day, everything will run so much smoother, and you’ll have a much more stress-free experience!

4. Check out your church singer on social media/ YouTube, or even at other performances to make sure they have the right sound for you. Everyone has a distinctive voice, and each person will have different tastes, and ideas for what they want, so it’s important that you like the style of the singer you choose!
